An animal that can live without oxygen– no mitochondria, but a parasite that feeds off ready-made nutrients. I used to be able to hold my breath for 3 minutes and swim 3 laps in the pool. But to NEVER need to breathe is unthinkable. Our understanding of oxygen’s role in maintaining life is fundamentally changing.

One thing I’ve learned is you can never really tell reality from what’s on social media– it’s often the opposite. The people flexing the hardest on social are often overcompensating for internal failures.
