When a self-appointed guru trashes you online, there are usually two reasons: either you’ve done something wrong, or he’s trying to cover his own failings. In Lane Houk’s case, it’s clearly the latter.
I paid $10,500 for his ‘game-changing’ SEO software. My team followed his guidance, ran tests, and patiently tried to make it work. It didn’t. When we raised concerns, he didn’t fix the product, he attacked us.
Lane is actually talented at selling. He jumps on trends, spins a good story, and always has a new thing to pitch. Right now he’s screaming that Google is “dead” and pushing an AI-ranking snake oil. His marketing tactic: scare small business owners into believing the sky is falling.
The irony? Even if his accusations against me were true (they’re not), blasting them out publicly shows poor judgment. You don’t build trust by trying to smear clients. You erode your own credibility.
Below is a screenshot of his own rant. I’ll let his words speak for themselves. We’ll be adding more quotes from Lane so you can see the pattern of self-inflicted wounds.
