Learning through teaching

I love Justin Ferriman and his LearnDash product.

We’ve been building and selling courses for the last 3 years using his platform.

We’ve used a dozen other course builder platforms such as Thinkific, Kajabi, ClickFunnels, Teachable, and so on.

But none has the flexibility we need— to integrate with WordPress, Memberium, and a ton of plug-ins by the community and custom-built by us.

There is no “one size fits all” course platform, despite what a sales rep or eager friend would try to tell you.

If it’s just you, a Teachable or Thinkific will be just fine.

Load up your course with lessons, a landing page, a quiz, and other components in minutes.

You could even put it on a Udemy or Lynda, as part of someone else’s library.

And if you’re a successful figurehead with an audience, are video-centric, and have $20K to start (not a lot when you add everything up), you’ll want to look at LightSpeed VT.

But if you are on WordPress, need to integrate email marketing, and have a full marketing+dev team, then there’s only one real choice right now.

We’ve gone deep into the APIs (or lack of– Zapier doesn’t count) of these learning platforms and can tell you it’s still early in the game.

I believe that as consumers become increasingly allergic to “ads”, teaching is where it’s at.
