Toby Surber
Toby Surber is the owner of Ad Astra Softwash in the Kansas City area, with over seven years of experience in the industry. His journey began in retail and roofing sales. One day he dove into YouTube searching for a side gig and discovered pressure washing and window cleaning. With his background in sales, he knew how to approach people and solve problems.
In the winter of 2017, Toby flew down to Florida, took a class on softwashing, and returned to Kansas City with a clear vision: build a business from scratch. He did it despite having zero formal business experience. Soft washing uses low pressure and detergent so the surface is not blasted the way high-pressure washing can.
Before all of that, Toby was an amateur fighter, including a month of Muay Thai in Thailand. Dennis wrote his fighter-to-founder story, from the YouTube search to the Florida class to building Ad Astra Softwash.
