Summary. Chopmen Tree Service is a tree company in Vancouver, Washington that used to let trusted customers pay off big jobs over a few weeks and hope it worked out. On Whop it now offers 0% down financing, up to $30,000, with terms up to 36 months through Clarity Pay, at the moment the estimate is given. If you run a tree service and your crew still acts as the customer’s bank after an emergency removal, this is the mechanism to copy.
What Chopmen was doing before Whop
Tree work is a cash-in-hand trade. Founder Matthew Antonov describes the old arrangement plainly: if the crew trusted someone, they let them pay it off over a few weeks and hoped it worked out.
That is a company lending money without underwriting. After an emergency job the crew was chasing payments instead of the next job, and Antonov calls it a risky way to run a business.
What changed on Whop
Whop is the checkout. Clarity Pay, offered through Whop, is the lender. When Chopmen hands over a written quote, the customer sees a payment option on the spot: 0% down, up to $30,000, repayment up to 36 months. Chopmen gets paid and the lender carries the balance.
The workflow in Whop’s write-up is a same-day booked appointment, a written quote, and financing offered when the estimate is given. The credit decision moves from the crew’s gut to a lender’s underwriting.
Whop made offering financing really straightforward for us. We can give a customer a payment option right when we give them the estimate, without our crew having to become a bank or chase payments afterward.
Matthew Antonov, founder, Chopmen Tree Service
Antonov is clear about who the financing is for.
Financing isn’t about upselling. It’s about the guy standing in his driveway looking at a tree through his living room wall, who doesn’t even want to think about money right now.

The numbers
The financing terms are 0% down, up to $30,000, up to 36 months, through Clarity Pay via Whop.
Whop’s write-up cites the context. Emergency large-tree removal typically costs $2,500 to $7,500 or more. The average tree-damage insurance payout is about $4,100 per settled claim, citing Consumer Reports and Bankrate. Six in ten homeowners have no emergency repair savings.
What the write-up does not state: Chopmen’s close rate, approval rate, or ticket size before and after financing. This is a mechanism story, not a results study.
What I would tell a tree-service owner to copy
Offer financing at the estimate, not after the customer balks. The gap between a $4,100 insurance payout and a $7,500 removal is where jobs die, and a 36-month option closes it while the tree is still on the roof.
Measure before you change anything. Put Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager and Search Console on your site and make the call button and the quote form fire as conversion events. If you cannot count estimates given, you cannot count how many were financed.
Get proof. Photograph every emergency removal, name the neighborhood, state the price range and the payment plan chosen, with the customer’s permission. Put it on one canonical page about emergency tree removal financing instead of twenty thin posts.
Then put a Dollar-a-Day boost behind the one video that already gets comments, the crew pulling a trunk out of a living room, aimed at homeowners in your service area and pointed at that page.
Qualify first. Financing on Whop needs $30,000 processed from at least 10 customers in 90 days. At $2,500 to $7,500 a job, that is about a dozen jobs, not a year.
Who this is not for
Whop is a checkout, financing, affiliate and storefront layer. It does not dispatch crews, track equipment or do your books, so you keep your field-service and accounting software. The base rate is 2.7% + 30¢, 20 basis points under Stripe’s 2.9% + 30¢, but the optional layers (managed tax 2%, orchestration 0.8%, billing 0.5%) can push the stack above Stripe. Financing requires $30,000 processed from 10 or more customers in 90 days and a dispute rate under 2%, and it is unavailable to gambling, sports betting, trading signals, credit offers and adult categories. If you do three jobs a month, start with the checkout and earn the financing.
If you were going to use Whop anyway
If you were going to sign up for Whop anyway, sign up through my link, dennisyu.com/go/whop, or send me your business name and email and I will submit the referral. Whop pays me a share of its profit on your account; your rate is the same 2.7% + 30¢ either way. In return my team at Local Service Spotlight sets up the AI agents that audit your public reputation, fix what they find, and keep it maintained: a personal brand analysis, Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager and Search Console with conversion events that actually fire, a Content Factory that turns one recording into a definitive article, clips and posts, and a weekly Metrics, Analysis, Action report. That is the work we normally charge tree service businesses for.
