Summary. LandSurveyDrafts.com is Jasen Hunt’s training business for land-survey drafting, a technical skill most people have never heard of. He moved courses, community, payments and CRM automation onto Whop and reports $40,000 to $60,000 a month, a $12,000 best day, 50-plus active clients and 300-plus students. If you teach a trade skill, this is the closest story on Whop to your business.
What LandSurveyDrafts was doing before Whop
The write-up describes a tool problem, not a demand problem. Courses lived in one place, the community in another, payments in a third, client records in a fourth. Jasen says the sprawl confused him and his students.
The location of the business is not stated, and I will not guess it.
What changed on Whop
Whop became the one place a student lands. The course is hosted there, checkout happens there, and paying students are routed into Discord automatically.
Behind that, Jasen uses Zapier and the Whop API to push new buyers into his CRM and client-management workflow, which is how a one-person training business handles 50 active clients without an assistant. His summary: “Moving everything to Whop made things way simpler and smoother for both me and the students.”
He is also specific about why the niche works. “Technical knowledge is way more reliable and objective than things like sports betting or trading.” A drafting skill either produces a usable survey drawing or it does not, and that makes the outcome easy to prove.
The numbers
Whop reports $40,000 to $60,000 in monthly revenue, a best single day of $12,000, $5,000 in the first three days on Whop, more than 50 active clients and more than 300 students. The write-up credits Instagram and paid advertising as the acquisition engine but publishes no ad spend, cost per student or conversion rate.
What I would tell a trades educator to copy
Teach the skill nobody teaches. Land-survey drafting is a real job with a real shortage, and there was no competition for the search. If you run an HVAC, plumbing or surveying company, the training you already give new hires is a product.
Prove the outcome with named students. A drafting student who is now billing surveyors is proof a stranger can check. Collect those with permission and put them on one canonical page for the course, not across forty posts.
Wire the plumbing before you scale ads. Jasen says advertising is where he wins, but the write-up cannot tell you his cost per student. Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager and Search Console, with the Whop checkout firing as a conversion event, turn a claim about crushing it on ads into a number you can defend.
Put a dollar a day behind the student video that already got comments, then move the winners to $30 over 30 days. The ad should show a drawing a student produced, not a promise.
Let the automation do the admin. A Zap from Whop to your CRM is a one-hour setup that replaces a part-time hire.
Who this is not for
Whop is a checkout, course, community and storefront layer. It is not a learning management system with grading, and it will not draft a survey. The base rate is 2.7% + 30¢, 20 basis points under Stripe’s 2.9% + 30¢, and the optional layers, managed tax at 2%, orchestration at 0.8% and billing at 0.5%, can push the stack above Stripe. Financing requires $30,000 processed from 10 or more customers in 90 days and a dispute rate under 2%, and it is unavailable to gambling, sports betting, trading signals, credit offers and adult categories. A course priced under $1,000 rarely needs financing; a $5,000 apprenticeship program might, once the threshold is met.
If you were going to use Whop anyway
If you were going to sign up for Whop anyway, sign up through my link, dennisyu.com/go/whop, or send me your business name and email and I will submit the referral. Whop pays me a share of its profit on your account; your rate is the same 2.7% + 30¢ either way. In return my team at Local Service Spotlight sets up the AI agents that audit your public reputation, fix what they find, and keep it maintained: a personal brand analysis, Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager and Search Console with conversion events that actually fire, a Content Factory that turns one recording into a definitive article, clips and posts, and a weekly Metrics, Analysis, Action report. That is the work we normally charge coaching and consulting businesses for.
