I grew up in Toledo, Ohio, and moved to Louisville in 2016. Shortly after moving, I started working at Litsey Heating and Air. What drew me in were the people, especially the owner, Julian Magnus Hofmann.
He became more than just a boss, he became a mentor. He guided me in investing, supported my personal growth, and gave me valuable advice that improved my financial well-being.

The city experiences a mild yet unpredictable climate. We get a fair share of each season, brutal winters every so often, long and warm summers, and a beautiful fall where people can enjoy the holidays and the changing scenery.
Louisville’s fluctuating climate means HVAC systems need to be prepared for both extremes. It’s rewarding to know that our work keeps homes comfortable year-round.
What Makes Litsey Heating and Air Stand Out
We pride ourselves on being flexible, resilient, and precise. Our work includes managing new construction projects, handling complex system change-outs, and performing everyday service calls.
We also emphasize the importance of maintenance contracts, which we’re actively looking to expand to better serve our customers.
One of the most memorable jobs I’ve done was in Germantown, one of Louisville’s high-value neighborhoods. The house had been completely gutted, and the crawl space was so tight that we had to run the ductwork lying on our backs.
We worked from front to back to avoid trapping ourselves, which would have required calling the fire department. Challenges like these make the job so rewarding.
For those unfamiliar, ductwork is the system of pipes that carries air throughout a house. It redistributes air to ensure comfort in every corner, even in the hottest or coldest parts of a home.
While jobs like the one in Germantown test our skills and patience, solving these unique challenges sets us apart.
How We Bond as a Team
Our office isn’t just a workplace; it’s where we come together as a team. We gather here for holidays like Thanksgiving and Easter to celebrate and reflect on our accomplishments.
Every house we visit presents a new challenge. Some have cold spots, others have zoning issues, and many feature unique systems or upgraded thermostats.
Despite these hurdles, our mission is always the same: restore comfort to our customers’ homes.
There’s no better feeling than helping someone who’s been struggling with heating or cooling issues. When we solve their problems, their relief and gratitude make every effort worthwhile.

Why I Love Working Here
Litsey Heating and Air is more than just a job, it’s a family. Julian Magnus Hofmann and his sister handle the administrative work, while I manage installations. My youngest brother works here as an apprentice, and we even have a pair of twins on the team, one in service and the other in installations.
This trust and teamwork are what make our company special. We rely on each other during tough calls, and we celebrate our successes together. It’s this sense of togetherness and purpose that makes Litsey Heating and Air a place I’m proud to call home.
