From a minivan and a push mower in 2011 to four businesses, 70 employees, and 145 cities across Indiana, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Founder & CEO of Anthony’s Lawn Care, Tree Removal & Home Services — and a mentor to service-business owners who want to build the same thing.
Anthony Hilb was born in Hackensack, New Jersey, and moved to LaPorte, Indiana at age five, raised by the cousins who adopted him. He grew up a drummer — played in bands, worked the local music scene, and nearly attended Berklee College of Music for percussion before deciding to channel that same hustle into business.
In the summer of 2011, he started Anthony’s Lawn Care out of the back of a minivan with a push mower and a toolbox, trimming around mailboxes by hand. An Indiana University graduate and Wharton Executive Education alum, Anthony built that one mower into four thriving businesses, a team of 70, and a reputation as one of Bloomington’s most recognized entrepreneurs — recognized like a local celebrity, even at the grocery store.
Anthony’s Lawn Care & Landscaping, Tree Removal, Junk Hauling, and Home Services — each its own entity, built from scratch, serving homes and businesses across three states.
Through Service Business Builder and TheLandscapeBusinessMentor.com, Anthony coaches owners to scale service businesses with systems, culture, and content — decades ahead of schedule.
Author of Make Money with a Microbusiness and the forthcoming Mow Money book, and a featured voice on the value of authentic, proof-driven local marketing.
