Most of these are at conferences. Most of them are people holding The Definitive Guide to TikTok Advertising, the paperback I wrote with Perry Marshall. I have hundreds more on Facebook stories and on my phone. These are the ones I pulled tonight so a conference buyer can see what the table actually looks like.
The signing table is not a merch afterthought. It is how you get more speaking, more photos, and sometimes more cash than the honorarium. List price on that book is $14.95. KDP is about two dollars. If the organizer buys 500 copies, that is $13 times 500 on top of the fee. Or you use the books as the deal: if they buy $7,500 in books, waive the $7,500 speaking fee. I think it is tacky to make attendees pay.
I have gotten more speaking and exposure from signing tables than from a cash register at the back of the room. The pictures are the proof you send the next organizer.
